Connecticut, US melodic death / doom metal group FIRES IN THE DISTANCE will be releasing an instrumental version of their acclaimed sophomore album, Air Not Meant For Us, via Prosthetic Records on October 6. Alongside the album announcement, the quartet has shared a guitar playthrough of album track Adrift Beneath the Listless Waves, featuring a guest appearance from Burial in the Sky's James Tomedi.

Prosthetic Records labelmates FIRES IN THE DISTANCE and DAWN OF OUROBOROS has today announced live dates for October in the US as part of their co-headlining The Perseverance of Light tour. Connecticut, US melodic death / doom metal band FIRES IN THE DISTANCE have today shared their new single and an accompanying visualizer, Idiopathic Despair. Idiopathic Despair is the third track to be taken from FIRES IN THE DISTANCE's upcoming second album, Air Not Meant For Us, and is one of the sophomore album's more introspective tracks. Following the runaway success of their debut album, Echoes From Deep November, FIRES IN THE DISTANCE have today released a live performance of The Climb. Ushering in a line-up change with their new drummer, Jordan Rippe, the band got together in early November at Telefunken Studio, CT to film a live performance of the album in its entirety at the studio's Soundstage. Filmed by Patrick Fallon and produced by Dave Kaminsky, the set itself perfectly captures FIRES IN THE DISTANCE’s blend of melodic death metal and doom atmospherics. The Climb is the first song from the session to be released, with the rest of the performance to be released at a later date.
