Prosthetic Records are thrilled to unveil the signing of KATAAN, a modern death metal duo preparing to release their self titled EP on May 7. Small in number, but vast in scope, KATAAN is comprised of Nicholas Thornbury (formerly of Vattnet Viskar) on guitar and vocals, and Brett Boland (Astronoid) on drums and bass. London, UK's PUPIL SLICER have today released their debut album, Mirrors, via Prosthetic Records. Mirrors sees the three-piece deftly pull from both metal and hardcore's most abrasive extremities to thrilling effect, and is guaranteed to see the band leave their mark on 2021. Sweden's HORNDAL are today premiering their new single, Horndal's Blodbad, and it's accompanying music via Decibel Magazine. Taken from their upcoming sophomore album, Lake Drinker, Horndal's Blodbad acts as another piece of the album's narrative puzzle. Set in the eponymous town of Horndal, the single's carefully crafted music video explores the town through the eyes of two Iranian refugees, siblings and dissident journalists Nina and Mitra, in compelling family pictures and stop motion images of their experience in Horndal. Horndal's Blodbad is available to listen to via Bandcamp, and will be available on all streaming platforms from tomorrow (March 12). Lake Drinker is due for release on April 9 via Prosthetic Records.

Experimental doom duo, VILE CREATURE, have been recognised by The Juno Awards for their latest album, Glory, Glory! Apathy Took Helm!, which has received a nomination in the Best Metal Album category. The full list of Juno nominees was announced today, and the awards ceremony will take place in May. Glory, Glory! Apathy Took Helm! was released in June 2020 and is available to purchase now.

DEPTHS OF HATRED have today released Pulsating Rhythm, the fourth single from their upcoming new album, Inheritance, due out on March 19. Pulsating Rhythm showcases the Canadian quintet's signature blistering modern death metal sound, alongside their newfound penchant for memorable chorus hooks, as William Arseneau's vocal acrobatics crisply alternate between anger and melody. A year on from their last album, All fell silent, everything went quiet, AN AUTUMN FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN have today announced their second album under the Prosthetic banner (their ninth full length overall), titled As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes. Alongside the announcement, the Netherlands based black metal-meets-shoegaze band have released a new single, Carefully Breathing, with an accompanying music video. As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes will be released via Prosthetic Records on May 21.

Following their recent signing to Prosthetic Records last month, THE EMBER, THE ASH has today released the second single and title track from upcoming album, Fixation. The solo project from a musical polymath known only as 鬼, THE EMBER, THE ASH straddles the gulf between textured metalcore and symphonic black metal - whilst offering recognisable glimpses into emotional turmoil. THE EMBER, THE ASH's sophomore album, Fixation, will be released via Prosthetic Records on May 14.

Fraternal Parisian duo, WuW have today released a new music video for En Souvenir Des Jours Que nous N'Aurons Pas Vécus, taken from their latest album, Rétablir L'Eternité. Filmed by Mathieu Baillargeon (The Phantasma Company), the visual is a mesmeric meditation on ageing set to WuW's signature brand of experitmental post-metal. St. Louis, Missouri's SUMMONING THE LICH have today released their debut album, United In Chaos, via Prosthetic Records. The album is a fully realised amalgam of blistering technical death metal and fantasy storytelling, acting as the first installment in a trilogy of albums. Accompanying the album release, the band have also today released a visually entrancing lyric video for The Gatekeeper.

United In Chaos tells the tale of the rise of the Lich and fall of the Kingdom Rodor - and the spread of his wicked influence across the land as his power grows.

SUMMONING THE LICH's debut album follows a well-received, self-titled demo and live dates alongside heavy-hitters such as Origin, Beneath The Massacre, and several stops on the Summer Slaughter tour. Having honed their craft, they entered Sicktones Studios studio with producer Jack Daniels in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in September 2019. With mastering completed by John Douglass, the result is a technical, abrasive journey through fantasy-driven, modern death metal.

On United In Chaos, SUMMONING THE LICH haven’t just championed a fantasy world, they’ve created one in their own vision; this release marking merely the first chapter in a trilogy of albums that explores the outer limits of their imaginations.
